JON WILLIS

Radio Talent and Journalist

My name is Jon Willis, and I am a skilled broadcaster who has had the opportunity to gain an incredible amount of experience throughout my time in college. I plan to graduate from the University of Nebraska at Kearney in the spring of 2025 with a major in sports communication and a journalism minor.

I have a broad range of hands-on experiences, including everything from live play-by-play to pre-recorded segments, recording live on-air shifts, and producing live shows. I was even asked to be the student newspaper’s sports editor. I served as the sports director for three years on the campus radio station as well, 91.1 FM KLPR.

Not only have I gained a lot of experience within the University, but I have also worked at KRVN Rural Radio for over three years. There, I recorded and produced on-air content, broadcasted play-by-play on one of the biggest reaching stations in the state centrally, shot and produced video content, and learned how to collaborate with co-workers in a professional environment.

With all the experience, I am eager to bring my passion and skills to a professional setting. I am confident that I will make a significant impact and build a long-lasting career in the broadcasting and journalism industry.
