I skipped the divisional week.. Whoops. That's why I'm going to talk about both of those weeks today! The divisional round saw all of the top two seeds win at home and advance to the championship game. The Chiefs were finally able to stop the curse and beat a horrible Colts team at home. The Chiefs honestly didn't look that good against the Colts, but maybe it's because they knew they didn't have to be. I mean come on did the Colts really have a realistic chance against Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs at the loudest stadium in the NFL? didn't think so. Tom Brady and the Patriots looked like the dominant force we've come to know against the Chargers. Philip Rivers had no offensive line and their defense couldn't stop an old Tom Brady. I mean you could've won that game but hey. Patriots back in the championship. I thought the Cowboys would pull off the upset against the Rams in LA, but they let me down. Probably shouldn't have gotten my hopes up though. The Cowboys are now consistent at losing in the divisional round. Hey I finally found something the Cowboys are consistent at! Now the last game of the divisional... Eagles and Saints. I had Eagles going all the way after beating the Bears. However, the magic of Nick Foles finally came to a halt. They lost on an interception tipped by Alshon Jeffery so I mean wasn't even Nicks fault. Saints move onto the championship. I need to say one thing though. Foles won you a super bowl, the next year he rallies a 4-6 team to make them into the playoffs and they knocked off a team I had winning the super bowl. If you don't start Foles, no offense, but you are the dumbest person ever. That's all I have to say. Now onto the championship games. First off the Saints and the Rams. All I have to say about this game, is the wrong team won and is now in the super bowl. I don't know how you miss a call that obvious. He went head to head contact and it was a pass interference. The Saints should be in the super bowl and that's the truth. I'm not salty I promise. Also credit to the Rams kicker though for drilling that 57 yard field goal in overtime. That was crazy. And oh boy the AFC championship game was amazing. It looked like it was all Brady in the first half and then the young sensation brings the Chiefs back and forces overtime. (two overtimes on championship Sunday was also crazy.) Both offenses went off in the fourth quarter and Brady of course led another fourth quarter drive to take the lead. But Mahomes, against all odds, made two huge completions with only 39 seconds left in the game and one timeout and set them up for a game tying 39 yard field goal. I know the Chiefs lost this game, but if Mahomes can do this his first year as a starter, imagine what he's gonna do for the rest of his career. When overtime started, I thought the first team to get the ball in OT would win because of how hot the offenses were. And of course Tom got the ball and went right down the field and scored. Even thought it's the Patriots vs Rams in the super bowl (I wanted Saints and Chiefs), it was still an extremely exciting championship Sunday and I can't wait for the super bowl. It kills me to say this but I think the Patriots will win.
