So as you all may know, free agency started off wild right when the NBA finals ended. Anthony Davis was traded to the Los Angeles Lakers to team up with LeBron and hopefully bring the Lakers back to their formal glory. The Pelicans got Lonzo Ball, Josh Hart, Brandon Ingram, and three first round draft picks including the fourth overall pick in this years draft. So the Pelicans will get Zion with the first overall pick which they already had, and another great player with the fourth overall pick. The Anthony Davis trade needed to happen, and that is why the Lakers gave up so much for him. I believe that the Lakers will be great soon and will make a run for the chip at some point soon. LeBron and AD will be a devastating duo. Do I think that the Lakers won this trade though? In my opinion, no they did not. Now I know what you're thinking. I put the picture as LeBron and AD as the picture, but I'm saying that the Pelicans won the trade. Like what the heck?? I was just trying to trick you not gonna lie. Brandom Ingram is a solid player and as much as I hate to admit it, Lonzo is getting better and will be at least a good player at some point soon. I have nothing against him, just his father. Josh Hart is also a rising rookie. Now, the Pelicans get two picks in the top 5 of the NBA draft. They will get Zion and maybe RJ or Morant. The Pelicans will be a young, dangerous team. They won't be a playoff made team right away, but when they continue to get better and more experienced, they could be the next NBA dynasty. I wanna predict right now that the Pelicans will be in the finals at some point in the next five years. So yes, even though LeBron and AD will be paired up in LA, I do think that the Pelicans were the winner of this trade. If the Lakers get someone else big in the off season though like Kyrie or Kawhi, then I change my mind and the Lakers will be great. It all depends on how this crazy off season ends up.
