This is why I LOVE College Football

So some big things have happened in the world of college football recently so I wanted to write a blog going over some of them and talk about my reaction to said things. I will talk about at the end why I love it, and who my top 4 are at this point.

So.... Alabama has fallen. Joe Burrow walked right into their home stadium and threw all over them. Even though the score was what it was, I think it was a bigger win than it seems. I mean who comes into Tuscaloosa and is up by 20 at halftime?! That's right, no one... until Joe Burrow came along. Alabama hasn't fallen far though and will be able to make the playoffs if LSU destroys Georgia (in my opinion). Having said that though, LSU might be one of the best offenses in recent history, and I don't see anyone stopping this team the rest of the way. Not even those bad boys in Ohio State. (Their youth will show at some point, probably not till the playoffs though). Joe Burrow should win the Heisman, and yes I think LSU will win it all this year.

Minnesota made a statement on Saturday against the number 4 ranked Penn State Nittany Lions. They are undefeated and sitting in firm control of the Big Ten West (big match up on Saturday though against the Hawkeyes). This team is in my top 4, I will get into it later, but I have really hopped onto this Minnesota bandwagon. I am worried about Tanner Morgan though. He's a young guy, hasn't played bad yet, but in some bigger games we'll really see what he is made of.

Oklahoma lost in a shoot out to Kansas State. They really showed why the Big 12 is always so looked down upon just because of how bad the defenses are. Since they allowed so many points though against an unranked team, I don't see Jalen Hurts and those boys being able to get back into the playoff discussion unless some things happen in the top 4 from the rest of the way out to change all of that.

Wisconsin got upset by ILLINOIS. Of all schools my goodness. What a great game it was though. It proved though that if Wisconsin doesn't have Jonathan Taylor playing lights out, then this team is not a top 5 team. Also, I'm not going to start a new paragraph but UCF has lost 3 straight games and it makes me really happy.

So yes... why I love college football. I just feel like it has some much more emotion, so many upsets. I love to see great teams fall. They don't say "any given Saturday" for no reason. Now that we have gotten through the big headlines of the last few weeks, here are my top 4 going into the last few weeks:

1. LSU

2. Ohio State

3. Clemson

4. Minnesota

My list is the same as the actual rankings except Minnesota is at number 4. They've done nothing but win and they beat a contender type of team last week. I don't think that can be ignored. Until Minnesota loses to Iowa, Wisconsin, or in the Big Ten championship, then this team should be in the playoffs no matter what. I don't think I really need to explain the other ranks. If you disagree with my rankings feel free to leave a comment and we can chat about it. I can't wait for the rest of this season and see what happens come bowl time.
