The Wild Wild Card

With the divisional round coming, I wanted to tell you all what I thought about the wild card week. I thought there were a few upsets and I wanted to get into it a bit. The game that surprised me the most was the Chargers beating the Ravens. I had the Ravens winning the super bowl if they could beat Los Angeles. I thought the Chargers were their biggest competition because Brady is struggling and The Chiefs always struggle in the playoffs. The Chargers surprised me though. They found an answer for the unique offense with Lamar Jackson (until the fourth quarter of course), and they were able to score enough to beat the Ravens. It was the game that shocked me the most. I thought the Ravens were legit but the Chargers beat them in Baltimore and for that I give them credit. I think the Chargers could be legitimate competition going into the rest of the playoffs. The next game that surprised me was the Cowboys and the Seahawks. I thought the Seahawks were too experienced and had too much firepower to lose to an inconsistent team like the Cowboys, but they surprised me. They played well on defense and gosh I can't believe I'm saying this but Dak Prescott came through in the clutch. I don't see the Cowboys doing well in the rest of the playoffs though. I did think the Colts would win, but not the way they did. They scored and moved the ball well and they completely shut down Deshuan Watson and the very good Texan offense. I think the Colts could turn some heads in the playoffs. I had the Eagles beating the Bears just because of the past. Nick Foles has always played well in the playoffs and he's done it again. I could see the Eagles going all the way after beating the Bears because I thought the Bears would go all the way if they could beat the defending super bowl champs though. However, Nick Foles showed up to win and he has done it again (with a little help from Cody Parkey). I think it will be very hard for the Eagles to go all the way but with the way the team plays when Nick Foles is at quarterback they have a good chance. Now it is time for predictions for the divisional round. First up we got the Colts and the Chiefs. I see the Chiefs taking care of business in a shootout. I know the Chiefs have struggled in the playoffs, but they have too many weapons to lose to the Colts. I think the Colts will turn some heads with how competitive they play though. Chiefs win 45-42. Next up the Rams and the Cowboys. I think the Rams take care of business in a good way. The Rams are just too good and the Cowboys are just too darn inconsistent. If the Cowboys and Dak Prescott in particular would be more consistent then maybe I'd give them a chance. Rams win 31-14. The Chargers and the Patriots are up next. I think the Patriots have been struggling, but it is Tom Brady and it is at home. I see this being a close game without and Philip Rivers either turns it over late in the fourth quarter or Tom Brady makes a miraculous comeback in the fourth quarter. I pick the Patriots 28-24. Last up is the Eagles and the Saints. Now I'm not gonna lie but ever since last years super bowl I've been all over the Nick Foles and Eagles bandwagon. The team just plays better and seems more motivated with him at quarterback. I see it being an offensive shootout and Nick Foles pulls off the upset. I see the Eagles winning 35-32. Let me know if there's anything about the playoffs you wanna talk to me about or disagree with!
