This has been the most craziest and most covered free agency ever. So many surprises and so many moves of great players. I am here to break down the rest of the stuff that has happened since my last post.
I really wanted Kawhi to go to the Lakers. I wanted to see him with LeBron and help bring the Lakers back to glory. However, seeing how this will impact the game, I am now a fan of it. Kawhi Leonard and Paul George have signed with the LA Clippers. The Clippers already had a team that took the Warriors, with Kevin Durant, to 6 games. Now bringing Leonard and George into the mix really shakes everything up. I think the Clippers will win the championship especially with Durant out for a year. I don’t think it will be a guarantee though. The Lakers, Bucks, Jazz, Pelicans, 76ers, and believe it or not the Warriors, I think will make it a difficult challenge for them. The battle for LA is gonna be epic this year and I’m so excited that balance has returned to the NBA.
Willie Trill is going to the Warriors. I think this will help the Warriors stay in the mix and no one should count them out this year. The question for the Warriors has always been the center and with Cousins gone, they now have a solid guy to turn to. This paired with Curry, DeAngelo, and hopefully Klay for the playoffs will make it very interesting to watch.
The other big move was DeMarcus Cousins going to the Lakers. Honestly this doesn’t surprise me. He wants to win a championship and now he goes to the Lakers with LeBron and his former teammate to try and win one. Those three all stars with Kyle Kuzma and some good bench players have definitely made them a title contender. The Lakers or the Clippers will probably be one of the two teams to come out of the West.
This will probably be my last free agency post for the NBA, unless something else crazy happens which it probably will. I wanna shout out Adrian Wojnarowski for always getting us our news right when it happened and for the countless hours he has put in. Kawhi and Paul going to the Clippers has restored balance in the NBA. Next season could go to anyone and I can’t wait to be on the edge of my couch watching it all unfold.
