Man oh man. People were thinking the Colts had a shot to dethrone big bad Tom this year, and then Andrew Luck retires. All I know is, my friends fantasy team is screwed. The real reason I wanted to talk about this though, is not because I'm mad at Andrew Luck for retiring. I'm mad at the reaction it's been getting from some horrible people. Although, to go back on my NFL predictions, I now think the Texans will win that division and advance to the playoffs. Just wanted to state that just in case you didn't know. Now, let's get right into the good stuff.
Andrew Luck retiring shows the state that the NFL is in now. These players are seen by the media as these superhuman people who can do anything. Andrew Luck and Gronkowski have shown that this really does affect them though. Even though they are making all these safer rules and safer equipment, that still doesn't change the fact that 11 people on the defense are trying to bring you down in a swift and painful movement. He had a great future. He was a terrific passer and great at reading defenses. The pain was just too much though, which should be completely fine. If we threw any of these people who booed Luck in a quarterback position, they would be out after one drive. Andrew Luck has just shown the public what the NFL can do to some people. That's not saying that the NFL is bad because it's not. It just shows that these players aren't immortal and they need to be treated better by the public.
The last thing I want to bring up is the booing. That is disgusting and a disgrace to the NFL. People, like I said, need to realize that these people aren't superhuman and sometimes the constant pain is too much. Andrew Luck had every right to make this decision and Colts fans should treat him better. It just made me so sick to see that video, because fans shouldn't have treated him like that. No one should be mad at Luck for making the decision that's best for him and his health. I hope the media stops getting on him, and he can live out his retirement in peace and happiness. Yes, it's sad we won't get to see Luck play anymore, but I'm glad he's making this decision that's best for him.
